The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is strong, friendly, efficient and organized. Candidates must be dedicated to learning the details of the building, company functions and all policies and procedures. Grounds Crew Employees should feel comfortable talking to residents and staff as they encounter them inside and outside of the buildings. Candidates should be self-motivated and be able to effectively manage their time. Candidates must be able to maintain a daily schedule and prioritize tasks. You should be able and willing to work in any weather conditions as needed to best maintain the facilities' grounds. All applicants should have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license and be willing to drive between company properties as requested. This position will report to the Director of Lawn/Ground Crew and by applying for the position you recognize that nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties or responsibilities to this job at any time. The ideal candidate should be flexible enough to accommodate potential scheduling needs of the building. You must be able to physically complete tasks needed to maintain the optimal condition of the facility. You may be asked to help in other areas of the building as needed for the optimal performance of your building/department and the well-being of our residents.
Essential Job Functions
As a Grounds Crew Employee in a Grace Management Services facility you must be able to perform the following essential functions as demonstrated by the ability to:
Shovel, plow or remove snow from facility premises' as needed.
Rake and remove leaves as needed throughout the fall season.
Identify safety hazards and emergency situation and initiate corrective action.
Report unusual problems to the facility Director of Maintenance or to the Director of Lawn/Ground Crew.
Maintain the grounds of company properties as needed. This includes mowing, trimming hedges, weeding, planting and keeping grounds free of garbage and debris.
Travel between Grace Management Services properties as needed.
Follow established performance standards and performs duties according to maintenance and grounds crew policies and procedures.
Participate in facility in-service programs and staff meetings as assigned.
Assume personal responsibility for following facility procedures related to control of equipment and supplies.
Assume accountability for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the facility and within his span of control.
Document incidents and/or unusual problems according to established facility procedures.
Perform other related duties as directed by the Director of Lawn/Grounds Crew.
Assist with facility maintenance responsibilities when assigned.
Job Qualifications
Must have a valid driver's license with reliable transportation, a High school education is preferred, 2 years of experience in related field preferred.
All candidates must be proficient in basic computer programs and must be able to correspond timely through e-mail or other forms of technical communication as needed to successfully complete the requirements for this job. Employees are required to complete monthly on-line education courses to keep our team members knowledgeable on the latest information and regulations. Sit or stand for extended periods of time
Reach above shoulder heights, below waist or lift as required to complete the job responsibilities
Proper lifting techniques, ability to read computer screens and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are required.
Must be able to lift 75 to 100 pounds. Raising objects from lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This requirement occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Must be able to balance, climb, crouch, grasp, kneel, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.
Must be able to hear, smell, feel and speak adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.
Must be able to read and write the English language.
Must be able and willing to work inside and outside with exposure to outdoor weather conditions. This position requires working in seasonal outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to, heavy snow, rain, sunshine, etc.
Must be able and willing to climb ladders and regularly work at heights of 6 feet or more.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
