Summary: We currently have TWO (2) positions available for AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING ENGINEERS. The Automotive Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for introduction of new products and driving continuous improvement of existing product lines in a fast-pace environment. In this role you will develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes and continually ensure that equipment capacity will meet customer demand. You will also implement process improvements which improve the efficiency and yield of the facility and participate in defect or cost reduction activities.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for improved product flow and quality in a manufacturing environment with a large focus on metal work. (Metal stamping, Tube forming and MIG Welding)
Be responsible for employing Lean concepts to reduce equipment setup, changeover cycles, manufacturing lead times, product cost, and inventory.
Be responsible for understanding the capabilities of manufacturing tools and equipment and ensuring manufacturings ability to meet customer requirements.
Provide technical expertise and support to maintenance or other plant personnel in equipment downtime resolution and prevention.
Possess knowledge of project management techniques and tools
Desired Characteristics:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read blueprints including a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience working in a manufacturing environment. (Metal stamping, Tube forming, MIG Welding assembly or product testing experience is desired)
Demonstrated ability to apply advanced manufacturing principles.
2D/3D CAD experience.
Fixture, Tool or machine design experience is beneficial.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related Technical field, preferred; equivalent experience in the Tier I/Tier II automotive market will also be considered.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
